Along the lines of super low cost Raspberry Pi – Raspberry Pi Zero, Orange Pi comes with theirs super low cost solution – Orange Pi One. The price is little bit higher that in case of RPi Zero, however board is equipped quite better. Orange Pi One is based on Allwinner H3 SoC – the same SoC that is used on every current Orange Pi single board computer. In case of Orange Pi One frequency of CPU is reduced to 1.2Ghz. The SoC contains four Cortex A7 cores, which means quite modern and energy efficient ARM cores with ARMv7-A architecture and NEON extension. In case of this design even Ethernet PHY is integrated into SoC chip (unlike many others single boards). This solution eliminates need for external ethernet controller chip and enabled manufacturer to implement 10/100Mbit ethernet interface event on such cheap board.
This stripped down Orange Pi also doesn’t contain some less vital peripherals known from more advanced Orange Pi models like audio interfaces, WiFi, eMMC storage, IR receiver or SATA interface.
|CPU||quad core Cortex A7 processor @ 1.2 GHz|
|I/Os||10/100 ethernet, HDMI (full size), MIPI-CSI for camera, 1x USB OTG, 1x USB2.0 host, 40pin GPIO header, coaxial connector for power input|
|Dimensions||69 × 48 mm|
Fantastic post.Never knew this, appreciate it for letting me know.
